Material Properties Sheets

Sealing solutions from Web Seal encompass a nearly unlimited range of materials. To select the correct materials to test, you will want to review the specification sheets, which contain details about the properties of the materials. These properties typically include:

  • overview descriptions of material type
  • hardness / durometer
  • density
  • tensile strength
  • elongation
  • compression set
  • temperature range
  • composition of compounds and substrates
  • wear and abrasion resistance
  • thermal conductivity
  • sound
  • electrical propertiesflexibility
  • shrinkage
  • barrier properties
  • bond strength
  • compliance standards

What's A Spec Sheet?

A spec sheet, also known as a material property sheet, is a technical report that lists test results for an array of physical properties, providing precise requirements of the product or materials. Tests are conducted in accordance with specific criteria set forth by industry associations and standards organizations such as IEEE, UL, ASTM, SAE and military specifications.

It is important to note that a material properties specifications sheet does not designate any particular use of the product or material. Engineers and others using the material are responsible for validating the suitability of the specs for their own applications.
