Kiss Cuts

In kiss cutting, the perimeter of individual parts is cut by the die without passing through the liner, leaving the parts on a removable layer.

Kiss-cutting involves the sharp die blade cutting through the surface of gasket material that has been laminated to a pressure-sensitive adhesive with a release liner. The blade cuts just into but not through the adhesive liner, providing multiple parts on a sheet or roll.
Advantages of Kiss Cuts
Being able to quickly pull off die-cut gaskets, pads or other shapes offers ease of assembly that can be an economical factor in your production. Assembly benefits from the convenience of peeling off a part as needed instead of removing the backing from each individual part.
Having individual parts on rolls or sheets, especially small or thin parts, can also be helpful in your inventory control.
